Weekend baking project

So my weekend of baking was a huge success. I baked 3 different things. Granted the first one wasn't really that hard to make to make because it wasn't from scratch, but it's not something I make all the time and it's only like my 3rd time making it.

Blueberry waffles
I received a waffle maker for Christmas. I used to make pancakes but never had any luck with them, I figured a waffle maker would be easier. Also I like waffles better anyway. Anyway, over the weekend I had some leftover blueberries. I poured them into the batter I mixed just to change it up a bit.

I'm getting pretty good at making them and very delicous

Chocolate chip muffins
This recipe was also influenced by a Christmas gift I received. You know that paper linings they use for cupcakes/muffins? Well I got silicone ones for Christmas! So I decided to make use of them. I found this recipe on http://allrecipes.com Super easy and makes a dozen muffins

So colorful!

They turned out really good but as you can probably tell I sprinkled WAY too much brown sugar on top of them. Also the tops were a little hard and crunchy. They still tasted delicious though. Not bad for my first try! :)

Banana bread:
So I'll admit I was a little skeptical about doing this one. I've never had much luck when it comes to making bread. The bread either doesn't rise, or it burns. This was simple recipe that I found on www.cooks.com. The thing I did differently was use a 13 x 9 pan, considering I didn't have a bread loaf pan. It didn't take as long to cook either.

It is delicious!

Relaxation, pajamas and quality time- A perfect Saturday

You ever have one of those days where all you want to do is relax? Well today, that's exactly what Tyrel and I did. Things at work have been a little crazy. The Lancaster center where I work has welcomed new kids as well as new co workers after the Monroe center closed. It was a little stressful at first... seeing as how everyone was given a week to prepare, but I tired to stay positive about it. Although I will admit that when I come in work on Monday it's fun to see something different. It's like having a brand new classroom! But more on that later. Anyway these past 2 weeks I've been feeling very tired. Tyrel has been busy as well. He is working two jobs with long hours and we just haven't had much time to spend together. The last few weekends have been busy as well. I had to get my computer fixed. We looked at venues last weekend. Well today we decided that it was a day of nothing but relaxation and spending time with each other. No running errands, no computers, just movies and video games. To make it even more fun we went and saw a movie, in our pajamas. We figured it was the weekend and there was no point in getting dressed. Remember we going for comfort today. I got to say, huge success!

Oh my gosh so excited!

What's a movie without a little popcorn?
We saw the movie: Warm Bodies. I wasn't so sure about it at first. I'll admit when I first saw advertisement for it, I thought it was going to be like the twilight movies but for zombies. But once I saw a trailer for it I found out it wasn't going to be like that at all and instead was a comedy horror movie. The movie was done basically in the view of a zombie. They had me laughing! Overall it was good day. Just what we both needed before we have to get up tomorrow and clean the house, and Tyrel has to go back to work

And it's gone...

Wedding progress!

Well thanks to my dad I now have a working computer. And aside from my faulty keyboard he found nothing wrong it. Figures. However he did have to order me a new keyboard since it doesn't type correctly which causes me to resort to my phone for this blog.

Ok where to begin. Well Tyrel and I spent most of the day at the beach looking for places to have a reception at. We already know we want to get married on the beach, it's finding a big enough place to hold everyone. We looked at a bunch of places including Beverly Beach state park and different hotels and resorts that have conference/banquet rooms you can rent.

It was pretty overwhelming. We looked at some amazing spots, my favorite being Inn at the Spanish Head. I never realized how expensive places can be! Of course what's nice that some of the things come with certain packages like a night for the bride and groom for example. The next step is calling places to see all the options we have and then hopefully work our way to setting an official date!

Chilren learn what they live

If children live with criticisim
They learn to condemn

If children live with hostility
They learn to fight

If children live with ridicule
They learn to be shy

If children live with shame
They learn to feel guilty

If children live with tolerance
They learn to be patient

If children live with encouragement
They learn confidence

If children live with praise
They learn to appreciate

If children live with fairness

If children live with security
They learn to have faith

If children live with approval
They learn to like themselves

If children't live with acceptance and friendship
They learn to find love in the world

Changes...

On Saturday I came into to work to prepare myself for a whole bunch of changes that are happening on Monday. I'm both excited and nervous about these changes. The good news is I'm staying in the same classroom, but I will be working with a different age group, as well as a new group of kids coming from the other center. So it's basically like getting a new classroom.

I haven't finished everything but I did some rearranging and cleaning so as to not come in on Monday and get some unexpected surprises. I got a lot done but still have lots more to do.

New cubbies big enough for the kids in BOTH toddler classrooms

Separate cubbies for nap blankets and sheets

The gate that once separated the two classrooms is now gone, leaving more room for the kids to play. My boss gave us a temporary gate to use during meal times and nap

Since we now share a changing a table for both classrooms, it left room for a kitchen area.
