We picked it!

Don't really have the time, or energy to write anything big. Had a nice 3 day weekend. Saturday I was able to sleep in a bit. The next two days were full and busy.

Sunday we headed to the beach. The weather wasn't really good, but we really needed to find a place to get married. So I made a list of beaches and headed to Newport and made our way up north towards Lincoln City. We went to about 8 different places and I'm happy to say we found a beach that we liked!! (as well as some new beaches to check out as well.)

The beach was so empty!

Different kind of sand there...

Beautiful outdoor area!
Feeling pretty satisfied with our new find, we headed home.

The next day was Memorial Day. Spent the day in sweet home with Tyrel and his family. Always a good time. Like I said I would usually have more to say but I'm about to hit my head on the key board from exhaustion. For now, enjoy these photos.

We also so Star Trek: Into darkness on Monday as well. As you can tell by the picture Tyrel was super excited

77 days

This is me, after a long day of dress shopping

This excited face means that I have finally found a wedding dress. We had to go to 5 different stores before we found the right one. It was a long and stressful day. As I went to the different stores I noticed that they don't have many options for bigger sized women. I know that I'm a little overweight but a lot of these dresses were sizes 0 through 10. They had a few dresses in a size 14 but even then they felt 2 sizes too small. If I found a dress that I like I could order it in my size, but I would have to buy it.

It really disappointments that stores don't carry dresses in bigger sizes. Not all women are small and skinny. Women come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. I'm overweight yes, but I'm also curvy. I've had wide hips ever since I was 12. Makes it hard to find pants that fit me right. I need pants big enough to go over my hips, but then that causes my pants to fall down and constantly needing a belt. I hope stores realize that they would get more business if they catered to women in all sizes. Anyway, 4 hours went by and no luck finding a dress. We sat down for lunch and I was on a verge of an emotional break down. Our last option was to go back to David's Bridal to see if they had the dress I liked. I've been to the one in Salem. I found the style of dress I wanted but it wasn't in the right color. This is where my mom came to the rescue! She had been busy making phone calls to all the local David's Bridal looking for the dress I tried on orginally. Well she found one. We finished up and we headed back over.
I'm happy to say that I found my dress and I was able to take it home with me!! I'm not posting a picture of it but I will give you a hint:

I'm feeling very accomplished right now, even though there is still so much to do. But now that I have my wedding dress, I focus on other things. The next step is find what I want to do with my hair. I'm currently growing it out so I'm able to fix it. I would like to do an up-do, similar to how I had it for my senior prom. I found some designs that I like

I love the one curl that hangs down!

The other option is doing just part of my hair up, with parts of it down and curly

I can't really decide what I want to do. If you know anyway that does hair and would like to practice on me, let me know or send them to me!

Picture perfect

A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine took some pictures of me and Tyrel. I don't have the originals yet, but I was able to "steal" some of my favorites from her website. Enjoy!

Soaking up some sun

It's really strange experiencing this hot weather in May. I was expecting more rain, like what happens every year in Oregon. It's feeling more like summer and to be honest I'm quite ready for it. If it's this hot in May, I don't even want to know how hot it's going to be once summer is officially here! (Yikes) But for the time being I will enjoy the lovely 80 degree weather and hope that summer isn't brutally hot....

Anyway, Yesterday I babysat my siblings and we spent pretty much the whole evening outside. We started with a nice dip in the pool, played at the park and ended with some late night gaming

So sweet

These kiddos love being in water, just like their big sister! And they have turned into quite the swimmers too. Sound familiar?

They love looking at the nutria that hang out by my apartment

Blurry... they wouldn't stop moving!

Such a fun day! Now off to bed...

Butterflies!!!

So on Monday I came to work to a wonderful surprise... our butterflies hatched!! The instructions told me it would be two weeks, but they apparently had other plans. It started with two, and then the others followed

The kids loved watching them. And for the next 3 days that's exactly what we did

Unfortunately one butterfly didn't make it... He became stuck in his cocoon for too long which in the end made his wings deformed. I tried to help it, but there was nothing much that I could do for it.

So yesterday while at work, we took the kids outside and let the butterflies free! This was such a fun experience to do with the kids. My co teacher and I will definitely be doing this again
