Family fun

I spent Saturday evening in Corvallis with family for the HP picnic. My dad has been working for Hewlett Packard for over 20 years. I remember going to the HP picnics as a kid and it's interesting to see how much has changed since then. We didn't stay very long but I was able to get some a few pictures.

I haven't had much energy lately because I'm starting to come down with some sort of sickness. Of course my body would decide to get sick just a week before I leave for vacation! I haven't been sleeping very well the past couple of weeks so I think the lack of sleep is starting to catch up with me. I'm the type of person who loves their sleep and when I don't get it, my body just shuts down. Luckily I have been sleeping better and try to get extra sleep with I can and increasing my water intake.

Why I swithced to more natural medicine

So I'm sure some of you noticed my constant post about my essential oils. I apologize if this bothers anyone, but I just can't help myself, these oil are amazing!

It all started in the beginning of the year, when my best friend started talking about these essential oils through Doterra. I personally have never heard of them and I honestly thought they were something hippies do or something, so I didn't think much of it. This also happen to be the time I was having constant headaches and was having no luck getting rid of them. I had increased my water intake and getting lot of sleep at night but no matter how many pills I popped nothing was helping. I was desperate! Well my awesome best friend gave me a sample bottle of peppermint and frankincense to help with my headaches. I wasn't sure if it would even work but I was desperate! (Also I wanted to point out that I was on a daily headache/migraine prescription but obviously it wasn't doing it's job.) Well I used up the entire bottle my friend gave me and decided to buy some of my own! I enrolled as a Doterra advocate in April, that way I can order oils whenever I want and for discounted prices and I absolutely love them!

Fast forward to now. My collection keeps on growing and use a lot of my oils on a daily basis.

One of the biggest things I decided to do was to start decreasing my medications. It's something I've been wanting to do for awhile but after a good 10 years of taking them, I honestly couldn't take the side effects of them anymore. I'd rather take something more natural, instead of something that makes you feel in a constant brain fog. I'm doing this with the ok of my doctor of course. He decreased it at first before I completely stopped. What I didn't expect though is how hard it would be on my body. After stopping a medication that you have been taking for over 10 years you can apparently get withdrawal like symptoms. It's been a really rough road but I'm trying to stay strong because I know in the long run I will feel so much better

If you would like to follow my journey or want to know more information about these wonderful oils please feel free to ask! I here to help people. Like my facebook page Living with Essential Oils

Some 4th of July pictures

We spent 4th of July in Corvallis this year to keep up with the tradition of watching the fireworks down at the golf course. It's pretty cool being so close to them and feeling the explosion. I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! My 3 day weekend has come to an end.

My friend came over to hang out and ended up falling asleep

Sunset before the fireworks show

The moon came out!

It also happened to be my nephew's first 4th of July. My family went to Idaho to visit him and since I wasn't able to go, my mom spent the entire day sending me adorable pictures of him. This one happens to be my favorite. I definitely miss this little chunk!

People of Salem

You know as much as I enjoy living here, I'm getting really sick and tired of the people here. People here are jerks and they drive like lunatics. I've experienced numerous times where I sit there thinking, "where's a cop when you need one?" or "wow, way to almost cause an accident."

Just the other day I was sitting at a red light, waiting to turn left. I was on a two way street, turning on a one street and knowing it was illegal to turn on a red light I waited patently. A car pulled up behind and not even 30 seconds went by before we started honking at me because I wasn't going. I of course continued to sit there knowing it was illegal to turn left on a red light, but the guy behind me wouldn't have it. He started to back up, pull into the lane of on oncoming traffic and then turn left, all while the light was still red. I couldn't believe it. Had a car been coming the opposite direction, he would have for sure got hit.

Another thing that happened is when Tyrel was driving home from work. Traffic was stop and go like it usually was. Ty couldn't go really go anywhere because there was a pile of cars in front of him so he just continued to cruise along. The car behind Tyrel became very agitated that he wasn't close enough to the car in front of him and proceeded to tailgate him and show him rude hand gestures. The guy continued to become impatient and since he couldn't go to the right lane to pass (due to the traffic jam) the jerk-head decided to pass to the left, onto the shoulder! Yes you read that right, this guy was so desperate to pass him he did something stupid and illegal to get around Tyrel, only to have to stop because of the traffic!

People of Salem, get your shit together. Is driving around like an idiot and being impatient really worth risking your life and the lives of other people? Are you really going to get to places any faster driving like that? Do me favor and next time and wait for the light to turn green, unstead of being impatent. When you see a bus full of kids, don't get so close to my rear end, or pass when it's clearly unsafe to pass causing me to slam on my breaks. And don't get mad at people for going the speed limit.

Slow down and don't be in such a rush all the time.
