A true Oregonian

A friend of mine had this on her facebook page and I wanted to share with you as well

Happy Easter

As I was sitting at the table with Tyrel and his family, I thought to myself about the true meaning of Easter. I celebrate it differently now then when I was growing up. I know that Easter is based on a Christian holiday that celebrates the rising of the lord but just because I don't really believe that it doesn't mean I can't still celebrate it.

It's times like these when I like to stop and think about what life has given me and what the future has to bring. I surround myself with people that I love and care about and am grateful to have them in my life. I love my life and everyone involved in it.

And even though my Easter didn't consist of me sitting in a church full of people who most of them only attend twice a year, (I call them C and E Christians) I still enjoyed spending time with the love of my life

Surprise trip!

So my boyfriend had me wake up at 6:30 this morning, had me wear something warm and good walking shoes. The destination: Unknown (at least to me) To this day I always thought I had an awesome boyfriend, but today just made it all the more true.

No traffic in Corvallis this early in the morning... :P

Pretty proud of himself.

After a quick rest stop we finally make it to our destination!

I can't remember the last time I went to the zoo. I saw lots of animals, took lots of pictures and of course had lots of fun. I love spending time with Tyrel and I love it even more that he surprises me with spontaneous adventures. His mom also joined in the fun. And yes, even she knew what the surprise was too haha

Right before we left, we made one last stop to see my favorite animals.

I like any kind of aquatic animals really, but sea lions are definitely high on the list.

Over all really awesome day!

Realization

Lately I've been having some problems letting go of the past. Tyrel will go out with his friends, have a good time, and come home late. I shouldn't make a big deal about it, couples should be able to have a good time on their own, but I can't help but feel a sense of jealousy. Maybe it could be because I have an ex that would ditch me every night to go out with friends but I wasn't allowed to go out with my girlfriends without a guilt trip. Maybe I just feel that it's not fair that Tyrel gets to go out and have fun and I'm stuck needing to go to bed so I can get up for work in the morning. Maybe I worry that he choices to go out to get away from me. Whatever the reason I really need to work through this and get over it.

I kept thinking about it, trying not to make a fight out of it. Going over each scenario, trying to understand the true reason of why it bothers me. I couldn't come up with it. That is until Tyrel and I were over at his friend's house for a party. As I was sitting down, watching everyone around me, laughing and having fun it hit me. The real reason why it bothered me so much when Tyrel went out with his friends.

Tyrel has something special, something that was taken away from me; a best friend. It's not fair that Tyrel gets to hang out with his best friends and have fun, and I wont ever have that because my best friend is gone... forever. The more I thought about, the more upset it got me.

Joseph Michael Pablo Jr. I miss you so much. Not a day goes by when I don't think of you. I could sure use a hug from you

One year

I think back to when I use to work at little beavers. What I left. What I gained. Wondering if the kids would still remember me if I ever went to go back and visit. Wonder if anyone there misses me. Wondering if I made the right choice in leaving.

I look back to what I was doing a year ago. And then realize how far I've gone. A year ago. I was finishing my last term of college. My relationship with my ex was pretty much gone and just gave up all together. I survived my term of student teaching while gaining lots of new teaching strategies and experiences. I was lost with what to do with my life from being rejected into grad school and began my search for a new job.

And now look where I'm at.

In one year, I graduated from college. Broke up with my looser asshole boyfriend. Found a new job. Got a new boyfriend. Moved into a nice apartment. Regained new friendships. Lost a loved one. Found another teaching job and am once again happy.

Now I look at where my life is at now and think about the future. Tyrel and I looking for an apartment together. Our one year anniversary. A trip to Disneyworld for two. Marriage. And hopefully start saving up some money for kids. Of course who knows how long that will take, but I've learned to just enjoy what I have going on right now.

Life is wonderful

A Baby Sent from the Stars...: A Baby Sent From the Stars Giveaway!

I wanted to post this because I want to give my friend a chance to adopt a baby. When she was just 17 years old she was diagnosed with a rare condition that has caused her to be unable to have children. She would make a wonderful mom and after fostering two adorable children, she is ready to make the next step.

Every little donation counts and makes a big difference!
