I'm thankful

I always use to look forward to Thanksgiving. It was the time where everyone in my family gets together. A time where I get to miss a day of school, pile everyone in the family car and drive to Nevada for Thanksgiving at my aunt and uncle's house. I love spending time with my family. As the years went by and our family got bigger, we haven't been able to travel as much, but some how we were all able to pull it together and see each other.

Now a days Thanksgiving is different for me. On Thanksgiving 2010 I was up really early. Not to begin Thanksgiving festivities, but to say goodbye to my best friend. Just the day before, he was in a bad car accident. With severe brain he wasn't going to make it.

From now on, on Thanksgiving I'm thankful for the wonderful people I have in my life. I love my family and wouldn't trade for anything in the world!

Birthday wishes

Well once again it's that time of year again. I knew this day would come but I dreaded every morning knowing that this day would come...

November 16th
A friend of mine had a birthday today. Unfortunately my friend is no longer with us due to a car accident. It would've been his 26th birthday. We use to celebrate our birthdays together, but now a days I visit the crash site to pay my respects. This year I bought some birthday decorations and decorated his cross.

Not a day goes by where I'm not thinking of Michael. All day Friday I stayed strong. Saturday I went out. Did everything I could to keep me mind off the sadness. Sunday night came around, I just couldn't do it anymore. I took a shower and I just let the tears come. I sobbed until I had no more tears left, and then went to bed. That night I saw Michael in my dreams, but before I had to chance to say anything to him, my alarm went off and I woke up...

Happy birthday Michael

----Love Lives On by Amanda Bradley

Those we love
Are never really lost to us—
We feel them
In so many special ways—
Through friends
They always cared about
And dreams they left behind,
In beauty that they added to our days…
In words of wisdom,
We still carry with us
And memories that never will be gone….
Those we love
Are never really lost to us---
For everywhere their special love
Lives on.

Arts and Crafts: Modified

Ever since I moved to the wobbler room I've had to modify my art projects to make them simpler for 1 year olds to do. It's been a hard adjustment, but I've discovered that the best way to do this is just give them a piece of paper and have them color, paint, and glitter it all they want! They may not look exactly how you wanted them too, but the kids love it and they look great hanging up in my classroom!

We are focusing on Fall and harvest currently has we are getting ready for Thanksgiving

My corn that turned out to be bananas...

This next project is actually a project my co worker did with the kids, but it was just too cute not to share! Bonus points if you can guess what it is. Again, doesn't normally look how you expected it. :)

It's a pumpkin pie! All it took was a paper plate, some orange plate, pumpkin spice and a cotton ball for the whip cream. This particularly project makes the room smell so good. Just have to remember to take them down after a week though, eventually the pumpkin spice starts smelling not so good

Weekend getaway

It was really nice getting a chance to leave town, even if it was just for the weekend. Tyrel and I left early Saturday morning, and headed down to Bend, where we ran into snow. Lots and lots of snow!! So much snow that we had to stop and put chains on our tires.

Our first stop we did was at the High Desert Museum. First time going there (well, that I remember) and it was pretty cool. Had stuff to look at, things to touch and animals to see.

My favorite part of the whole place though was of course the butterfly exhibit! In case you didn't already know I LOVE butterflies. I was literally in heaven and Tyrel had a time pulling me out of the room.

After our adventure, we headed to Redmond where Tyrel's parents were kind enough to let us stay with them at a resort. Really nice, super relaxing. Wished we could have stayed longer. The only down side to the trip and me getting food poisoning... Not the best way to end a trip, but hey, I guess it's better then getting sick, while on my trip

8 reasons why I love fall

1. The colors. The many varieties of colors. Sometimes I'm mesmerized by the different colors around me as I'm driving around.

    2. The leaves and giant piles you make with them, and then jump in them :)

    3. The cold beautiful weather.

    4. Warm fuzzy slippers. Nothing better then cuddling on the couch, under a blanket with a pair of fuzzy socks or slippers.

    5. Football season. Enough said :)

    6. Scarves, hats and gloves

    7. Uggs.

    8. Holidays. Fall is the start of the holiday festivities and then introduces one of my favorite holidays: Christmas
