Crusin' through summer

Well the hot weather finally caught up to us here in Oregon. Let's just say that I'm very thankful for our ac unit. I don't know about you guys but there is something about hot weather that just drains me, causing me not wanting to do anything. Saturday I spent the whole day on the couch and by the end of the day I was exhausted! But today I finally decided to get off my lazy butt and do something useful. So I decided to do some baking. I later found out that probably wasn't the best idea though because then it made the whole house even hotter, but oh how it made the house smell so goooooood!

Because of Ty's OCD he INSISTED on making sure none of the colors touched...

The muffins turned out a little gooey in the middle because I didn't cook them long enough, but I think they still taste delicious!

After baking I decdied to tackle some house work that I have been putting off for the past 3 weeks. Cleaning bathrooms have always been my favorite chore, (weird I know) and normally I'm really good about having clean bathrooms. But when the weekend comes around I've just had no motivation to clean or do much of anything because it's my only time off. Well today I decided no more excuses. I scrubbed, cleaned, swept and mopped the kitchen and BOTH bathrooms. I was so proud of my work I even took pictures

Nice clean kitchen

The extra bathroom

Our lovely master bathroom
I think my biggest accomplishment was the shower though. Because there are no windows in the bathroom, there isn't much air circulation in there which causes a huge mold and mildew problem. I worked on our shower for 30 minutes, scrubbing it clean until it was white again!

Isn't it nice?!
After cleaning for 3 hours I took a break and headed down to the park to celebrate my mom's bithday. Such a wonderful end to a lovely weekend. I hope everyone else had a wonderful weekend

Here's to dad

This photo is perfect for me and my dad. Although I was really young and don't remember it, I attended his high school graduation. 17 years later he was at mine. I wish I had a picture to show you but I'm sorry to say that I don't.

3 years ago he attended my college graduation

In about a 1 and 1/2 more months he will be there to walk me down the isle for my wedding.
He's always been there for me for support and know how to make me laugh. Here's to you dad! Thanks for being the best day ever

Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful dads out there

Summer daze

Well summer is officially here which means it's time to brake out the sunscreen and summer clothes. The sunny days are nice to have once in awhile but I've never been a fan of the heat. If the temperature stayed at a nice 75 degrees all summer I would be ok with it! Of course I seem to be singled out on this agreement. People here want sunny and hot weather and complain when it rains. Well I hate to break to you, but you are living in the wrong state!

This summer should be one that I shall remember for awhile. As the summer goes on, the date for my wedding gets closer. Everyday I prepare myself for what is going to be a life changing event. Only 57 more days to go!

Fun and games

Friday is usually one of the busiest days of the week. It's the day where we have 8 kiddos, (our max we are allowed to have in my room) leaving my classroom fuller then both the classrooms next to us combined! Needless to say I'm extremely happy that this happens to fall on the last day of the week. By the time I get home I'm ready chill after all the madness.

Last Friday there was a carnival at my school. As the day went on, the kiddos and I watched as our backyard transformed into a fun play land filled with games, food, music and a bouncy slide. This was my first experience with my school carnival and I'm happy to say I got to share this experience with my siblings. They had a blast! Bryalon especially. He bounced from one thing to the next, playing every game multiple times, chasing bubbles along the way, and bounced his little heart out. It took awhile for Bailee to warm up, but she soon joined him in the fun!

He thought it was so cool how he went "fishing" and he got goldfish!

As you can see in the above picture he finally slowed down enough to enjoy a snow cone. I think he slept well that night, and the next morning he woke up my mom to tell her all about it
