Grand mother: Good witch

A tribute to my great grandma. Someone else wrote this and read it at the funeral service. Love you Nanny J!

Grandma taught me how to stand on my head, and to dive

She taught me to husk corn, and snap bean and when the house smells that bad the sour kraut is almost done.

Whenever you see a white horse make a wish like this.

She taught me to fish... to bait my hook and when trying to get to the good spot down on the rocks "right here" is a good place to carry your fish eggs.

She taught me to two step and to play gin rummy. To watch her stories in the afternoon and to shoot starlings out the back door. She taught me cus like a sailor and to always kiss on the lips.

She taught me that Grandmothers can date; and in dating its ok to Honky Tonk

with an Aardvark but if you marry, marry Papa Dick.

She always call me names; if I did well I was Hot Shit, if I backed down Chicken Shit and more recently when I bought her a nice gift she called me Rich Bitch.

When we would visit her at the Wildflower Lodge with Lexi it was like she just won the lottery. She would say "come on let's see who we can find" She would get her little walker and with purpose scour those halls for someone to introduce us to..

Then it was always in order; this is my grand daughter, this is my great grand daughter and THIS is my great great grand daughter. And she would beam.

My lifestyle

I am a teacher.

I work with kids all day who need taken care of. Band-aids on their boos boos, ice for their injuries, and tissues for their noses. I plan activities and help them get through the day, and help them work through problems. Everyday I'm counted on to create a learning environment so that a child may succeed. Everyday I face a new challenge that help me grow to become a better person the next day. I get yelled out, kicked, hit, bit, hugged, kissed, scratched and held.

Teachers these days aren't respected as much anymore and definitely don't get paid what they deserved. Schools are given less money and are forced to shut down important programs like gym and music. More teachers are getting laid off because we don't have the money to pay them.

People may not understand the type of work I do, and may not see that it is worth it, but I love what I do and get such joy out of working with kids that I can't see myself doing anything else

Pictures

Just wanted to take the time to post some pictures before heading to work. Now that the weather is starting to become nicer I will be outside more and spend more time at the park!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

A true Oregonian

A friend of mine had this on her facebook page and I wanted to share with you as well

Happy Easter

As I was sitting at the table with Tyrel and his family, I thought to myself about the true meaning of Easter. I celebrate it differently now then when I was growing up. I know that Easter is based on a Christian holiday that celebrates the rising of the lord but just because I don't really believe that it doesn't mean I can't still celebrate it.

It's times like these when I like to stop and think about what life has given me and what the future has to bring. I surround myself with people that I love and care about and am grateful to have them in my life. I love my life and everyone involved in it.

And even though my Easter didn't consist of me sitting in a church full of people who most of them only attend twice a year, (I call them C and E Christians) I still enjoyed spending time with the love of my life

Surprise trip!

So my boyfriend had me wake up at 6:30 this morning, had me wear something warm and good walking shoes. The destination: Unknown (at least to me) To this day I always thought I had an awesome boyfriend, but today just made it all the more true.

No traffic in Corvallis this early in the morning... :P

Pretty proud of himself.

After a quick rest stop we finally make it to our destination!

I can't remember the last time I went to the zoo. I saw lots of animals, took lots of pictures and of course had lots of fun. I love spending time with Tyrel and I love it even more that he surprises me with spontaneous adventures. His mom also joined in the fun. And yes, even she knew what the surprise was too haha

Right before we left, we made one last stop to see my favorite animals.

I like any kind of aquatic animals really, but sea lions are definitely high on the list.

Over all really awesome day!

Realization

Lately I've been having some problems letting go of the past. Tyrel will go out with his friends, have a good time, and come home late. I shouldn't make a big deal about it, couples should be able to have a good time on their own, but I can't help but feel a sense of jealousy. Maybe it could be because I have an ex that would ditch me every night to go out with friends but I wasn't allowed to go out with my girlfriends without a guilt trip. Maybe I just feel that it's not fair that Tyrel gets to go out and have fun and I'm stuck needing to go to bed so I can get up for work in the morning. Maybe I worry that he choices to go out to get away from me. Whatever the reason I really need to work through this and get over it.

I kept thinking about it, trying not to make a fight out of it. Going over each scenario, trying to understand the true reason of why it bothers me. I couldn't come up with it. That is until Tyrel and I were over at his friend's house for a party. As I was sitting down, watching everyone around me, laughing and having fun it hit me. The real reason why it bothered me so much when Tyrel went out with his friends.

Tyrel has something special, something that was taken away from me; a best friend. It's not fair that Tyrel gets to hang out with his best friends and have fun, and I wont ever have that because my best friend is gone... forever. The more I thought about, the more upset it got me.

Joseph Michael Pablo Jr. I miss you so much. Not a day goes by when I don't think of you. I could sure use a hug from you
