33 weeks

These babies sure are growing and I have a huge belly and more weight to show for it. By now they should be gaining about 1/2 pound each week, which mean I'm gaining weight more frequently too. I now have reached my pre-pregnancy weight. Probably a good thing I lost 15 pounds during this pregnancy. Right now Baby A who is facing head down is now measuring bigger and weighing at 4 lbs 12 oz, with a heart rate of 139 bpm. Baby B who is still breached is weighing at 4 lbs 6oz with a heart rate of 143 bpm. Everything looks good in my ultra sound and babies are growing right where they need to be. We talked about setting a date for my induction with my doctor, and any complications that can come with delivering breech babies as well as c section. Not really something you want to hear but everything comes with a risk and at least my doctor is honest. Starting next week I start going to my OB at once to twice a week. Since having twins they are want to do a stress test and extra fetal monitoring to make sure babies are doing ok inside the womb. Depending on how the test goes will determine if I need to be put on bed rest or not.

The babies room is looking a lot better, thanks to my mom. We got a dresser put in and clothes all put away and one swing still set up. We still need to set up the crib in our room that we will use for both of them, finish organizing and pack a hospital bag. We still have some time before these babies are born but because it's normal for twins to come early, it's still better to be prepared. Things are getting a little uncomfortable for me, including sleeping. Have to get up a couple times a night to use the bathroom. I sit on the couch to put my feet up as much as possible but even then I still have to get up and move around a little because I feel like my big belly in constricting my air way sometimes. The Braxton hicks contractions have started as well. Nothing to big but a little uncomfortable. I still have a long ways to go, but there are days when I wish I was done being pregnant.

Unfortunately since both babies were facing down, towards my spine they weren't able to get any pictures!

I noticed the other night that my belly is no longer round shaped

Really hoping this swelling goes away once these babies come....

32 Weeks

As the babies are becoming fully developed, I'm starting to run out of things to say. Each baby should be weighing at about 3.9 lbs. They will slowly gain weight each week (as will mom) until they reach their birth weight before they are born. My mom came last weekend to help go through baby clothes, and boy were there a lot! I seriously appreciate all donation of baby stuff people have been given us. We truly are grateful and have enough clothes to last up to 12 months!

Things have been going ok for me, only complaint I have are my fat swollen feet! I hate my feet now, hate looking at them. I wake up in the mornings and they are still fat. I try and put my feet up as much as possible. My plantar fasciitis is flaring up, probably because of all the extra weight on my feet. Even though I get to sleep in every morning I still feel like I could sleep more. You know all the usual pregnancy stuff

31 weeks

Well the babies are getting to the point where they slow down growing in length but still have quite a bit of weight to gain. They should weigh just over 3 pounds approximately. I had my Ob appointment on Thursday. I'm measuring 37 cm. One baby is still head down and the other one is head up. My doctor and I discussed delivery options and because baby B is head up and measuring bigger, she feels it is my best interest to have a c section. There are too many safety risk by delivering vaginally, including the baby's head getting stuck. To be honest with you a c section absolutely terrifies me. I've never had any type of major surgery before. So here's hoping baby B decides to rotate so that I don't need a c section!

On Monday Tyrel and I did a tour of the hospital in Salem. It was very informative as they took us through the rooms I will be delivering in and then recovering in. The Salem Hospital does this thing called baby first, which means the baby remains in the room with you at all times. Unless of course there is some sort of complication

Today was my first week working part time. It feels weird coming into work at 2 and do miss my kiddos but I've been feeling so much better. I'm able to sleep more in the mornings and I feel I can actually make it through the work day.

30 weeks

This week is my last week working full time. Starting next week I will still be working everyday but just shorter hours. I'm actually really excited for this because I feel like I've reached a point where I need to take it easy. The biggest problem I have had lately is the swelling in my feet and legs have gotten really bad. So much that my legs actually hurt when you touch them. Sleeping is going better now that I've recovered from my sickness

Our house is slowly coming along. We have the living room, bathrooms and bedroom finish. Still have some things lying around in the dining room. We can actually walk in the spare bedroom now where we store stuff. That will be the next thing we work on, as well as the babies room.

I made deviled eggs!

Look a food shelf!

29 weeks (late post)

I'm late posting this but we had a busy weekend full of moving! We are now out of our shitty, rat infested apartment and into a nicer and 3 bedroom apartment. Still pretty bummed that we had to put the house buying process on hold, but I keep trying to remind myself that it's only temporary.

Anyway, this weeks picture was taken at our new place where there is a mirror low enough that I can see my whole belly. And when I looked in that mirror I honestly had no idea I was that big! Little bit of shock for me you could say, but these twin babies I'm growing need to keep on growing so bring on the big belly! I had my OB appointment on Wednesday and I'm currently measuring at 36 cm! So someone who should be about 36 weeks along. I still have a long ways to go and it will be interesting to see just how big I get. She also agreed with my request of going to part time! I'm actually really excited for this because I feel I really need to start taking it easy. Full days are really starting to be too much for me, of course I am fighting a sickness too, walking pneumonia actually, so once I recover from that maybe I can get through the day better.

I also had an appointment with the specialist too and had my ultra sound.

Baby A decided to cooperate this time and finally showed her face

Baby B showed us the front of her face with her arms up
Legs

This picture is funny. She was trying to get measurements of baby B and then up on top you can also see baby A's face!

Now that we have moved and cleaned our old place, all that's left to do is unpack and organize stuff. It will be nice to finally go through all the baby stuff we have and start getting all the cribs set up and everything else in the babies room. I still can't believe that starting in April we will now be a family of 4!

28 weeks!

Well I have officially reached my 3rd trimester, which means I have 12 more weeks to go! Well 10 weeks for me. I continue to get bigger and the babies are becoming more active. The swelling in my legs and feet have gotten really bad, but the good news is, thanks to Zantac I no longer have heartburn! I started taking it on Tuesday and it has helped tremendously. Sleeping for me has started to become hit or miss. I wake up a lot at night because I either need to use the bathroom or I can't comfortable. It's frustrating knowing that I have the most comfortable bed but I'm not able to get comfortable to sleep. But of course with having a big belly I can only sleep on my sides, which means I need to switch sides once in awhile.

Next weekend is moving day!! The plan is to be done with my appointment on Wednesday and have time to sign paperwork so we don't have to deal with it on Saturday. Normally I hate moving, but for once I'm actually really excited to get out of our current shitty apartment. We will have a room to set up for the babies and hopefully get going on a nursery. I haven't really gone through my "nesting" phase that a lot of pregnant women go through, but I have been wanting to go through all the baby stuff people have been giving me. But since our spare room is currently stuffed full I don't really have that option right now

On Wednesday I have my next OB appointment and an appointment with a specialist to get an ultra sound. Going to talk to my doctor about my symptoms I've been having and possibly start working part time. A full work day is just getting too much for me

I found this really cool picture of what twins look like in the womb. Just imagine one of them being head up instead

27 weeks

Ignore the messy hair. I had just gotten off work and was in a good mood so I had Ty snap a picture for me. If you notice there was a big jump in measurements then you should know that when measuring babies at this stage, they start measuring from head to feet, instead of head to butt. They do this because baby is able to stretch out out more, and trust me I can feel them stretching and moving a lot. I feel baby B more then Baby A because she is higher up, but when I'm sitting down and not moving or sleeping I feel both of them kicking me! Whenever they are active I try and get Tyrel to watch my belly move or see if he can feel anything but as soon as I say something and puts his hand on my belly, they stop moving.

On Tuesday I had my glucose test. Had to show up and drink this really fruity and sugary drink, that tasted like orange soda and then sit for an hour to get my blood taken to test my blood sugar. They were testing me to make sure I don't have gestational diabetes. I haven't heard anything from my doctor so I'm going to assume everything was normal. No news is good news right? Other then that things have been going pretty good. Some days are better then other. The only things really bother me is the heartburn, which seem to come at random times, achy feet and tiredness. You knew the usual pregnancy stuff.

I had my first encounter with a stranger who commented on me being pregnant. She was an older lady who first congratulated me on having twins and then went into a 5 minute conversation about making sure I raise them right or society is doomed in the next 20 years. Then she asked if I picked names yet. I told her yes. And then she asked, "You aren't going to name them something weird like River and Mountain?" I just looked at her and said, "Those aren't really names..." This is all while I was standing in line at the grocery store waiting to check out. Afterwards I realized I should've told her that is what I was naming my girls, just to see how she would react!

26 weeks

Not much to say about this week. It's painful to be on my feet. This pain is different then I have experience before. I've suffer with plantar fasciites before with excruciating heel pain. But once I bought inserts with arch support it, did some stretches and ice, it got better on it's own. But the pain I'm feeling now is more of an achy feeling rather then a sharp pain. Last night I noticed a bump on the bottom of my foot that's really painful to push on. I have no idea what it is but I'm assuming something is inflamed in my foot from the increased pressure on them. On a good note though, I have been sleeping amazing a night! I only need to get up once to use the bathroom but then I'm always able to go back to sleep.

On another good note, we have found a new place to live! A cute, really nice 3 bedroom apartment. Room to store our stuff we have, plus a room for the babies when they get older. And a kitchen with counter and cabinet space!!! Unfortunately it is on the second floor, which will suck carrying two babies up and down the stairs but this is the best place we can find for an affordable price

Also, Tyrel and I have decided on names finally. But we are not revealing them to anyone expect family, and some close friends. The reason why I decided to do this was because I should've waited on revealing the gender like I wanted to but just sort of jumped on it. I wasn't going to reveal the gender until my baby shower. That way if people did buy me clothes, it would be gender neutral. I refuse to dress my girls in a ton of pink and it frustrates me that baby girl clothes are mostly pink!! So if you want to know the names, you will have to wait until they are born. But for now you are welcome to call them Padma and Pavarti (the girl twins from Harry Potter of course)

For my future Beaver fans!

25 weeks

This week pregnancy symptoms have hit me, hard. I feel exhausted all the freaking time and have a hard time getting through a full days work. Another thing that has bothered me are my feet. They are swelling like crazy and have started hurting. If I can remember I put my feet up but being at work and working with kids requires me to be a little more active. I'm going to start going to bed earlier to see if  that helps. I feel like I'm not that far along to be having these problems, but I have to keep reminding myself that I have two babies growing inside of me, which means I'm bigger then most people who only have one baby. In fact my uterus is measuring at 32 cm, which is someone is about 32 weeks along. Just trying to take one day at a time. And don't even get me started on the heartburn. I've never experience heartburn before I was pregnant and it's the worse thing ever!

We are still on the hunt for a new apartment. We are having a hard time finding one we can afford and they go FAST. Before we apply for a place we want to see the inside of it. Well when we do go see a place and by the time I get a hold of them again there is already a pending application on it! The office hours on places are also during time we have to work so that makes it a little harder to contact them too. The whole thing is just really frustrating.

I have someone who bought me a maternity belly that is suppose to help support your belly, and it's the most amazing thing ever! I wear it at work everyday and it's amazing!

24 weeks... still

Well this week's blog is going to be a little different. I had an appointment with the specialist yesterday and had another ultra sound, to check the growth of the twins. They want to make sure they are growing close to the same rate. I didn't do my weekly photo like I usually do because I had my due date wrong, so I'm not as far as long as I thought I was. My new due date is April 14th (which puts me at 38 weeks)

As far as the babies go Baby A is weighing at 1 pound 11 oz, heart rate is 143 bpm with a head circumference of 22.17 cm. Baby B is weighing at 1 pound 8 oz, heart rate is 144 bpm, with a head circumference of 22.12 cm. Both growing in the way they are suppose to be and at the right rate. Both are healthy as well with no complications. And she was able to get another picture of them as well!

Baby A is still positioned really low but going into the appointment she was curled up into a ball and was facing down, refusing to show her face, which is why all you can see is spine and the back of her head in the picture. Baby B is spread out along the top and had no problem showing her face. It was baby A that wouldn't cooperate last time too and was constantly moving away from the screen. I'm beginning to wonder if that's a sign

24 weeks!

This week has been interesting. Just when I thought I was feeling better and over this cold, I started feeling like crap again. My sinuses were on fire and it hurt to touch them and my cough become worse to a point where I couldn't take a deep breath without coughing. Went to the doctor and they prescribed me some antibiotics. Needless to say I'm feeling much better! In other news I've started feeling the babies kick more! I started noticing it when I was on vacation. At first I wasn't sure what it was because the kicks just felt like little muscle spasms. I was actually sitting at the doctor offices when they were really kicking and as I was sitting there, I watched my stomach move up and down in one this little spot. It was really cool to see

In more exciting news Tyrel got hired by a new company called Three Phase Electric based in Clackamas. This is a huge relief for us. We still have decided to put the house buying process on hold though. Yes both us will be working again but with me going on maternity leaving in early March and then not knowing when I plan on going back to work, it will still put us in a difficult situation of getting a house loan. It just puts a lot of pressure on us in trying to find a house within the next 3 months, which could result in us buying a house we really don't want. Tyrel and I both think it's better to just stick with finding a new rental until we are a little more financial stable (I laugh at that phase haha) and possibly closer to when Tyrel is done with school. It's not part of the our "plan" but of course life never is, considering we were only expecting one baby, but I think this will be better in the long run. The problem we are having is coming up with a deposit. I started a gofundme website but it turns out they wanted too much personal information I didn't feel comfortable giving so I deleted it. We have money in our savings we can use and some family members have offered giving us some money which we are truly grateful for.

23 weeks!

*Babies are the size of a papaya (8 inches)
*The organs and bones are visible through the skin, until they start developing fat
* Babies are becoming more active and those flutters are becoming kicks!

(I took this picture with my new selfie stick)

It's been a nice relaxing week for me. I was given the week off from work even though I only requested Wednesday and Thursday off for vacation. But with it being Christmas break we are low on kids which means limited amount of kids. The cold I developed is coming to an end now all I have is the lingering cough which is normal with having asthma. I have been sleeping amazing lately and through the entire night. I was a little worried for a little bit because when I had my cold I had no appetite and wasn't eating very much but now that I'm feeling better my appetite has come back.

This year we spent Christmas in La Grande at my grandparents house. It's about a 6.5 hour drive and normally car rides don't bother me but this time riding in the car was really uncomfortable. My back has been bothering me which means all positions, except for laying down is uncomfortable. I had a pillow in the car that I had to keep shifting but even then it only last 10 minutes before I had to switch positions again. Every couple of hours we had to stop not only to use the bathroom but to get out and walk around. I feel I shouldn't be having these issues already considering I'm not that far along but I have to keep reminding myself that I am carrying twins so I'm bigger around then a person only carrying one baby.

Olaf!

22 weeks

Well I have developed my first cold of the season. I was expecting it too happen considering I work with kids and they are so good about sharing their germs with everybody. I've been using my oils and vitamin C like crazy. And at first when I woke up on Sunday I was feeling fine. It just felt like congestion, which is normal with pregnancy so I didn't think much of it. I started using flonase and it's been helping with the allergies a lot but when I woke up on Thursday, I legit felt like crap. Horrible head congestion and sinus headache and the awful hacking cough. Even Tyrel noticed I didn't look well. Just going to have to ride it out like I normally do and hope that it doesn't turn into something worse like it usually does.

I had another OB appointment on Tuesday. I'm measuring at 28 cm which is the equivalent of someone being at 28 weeks. It didn't surprise me really considering I am carrying twins but it's no wonder I feel so pregnant. Other then that life has been going pretty good. People have been generously giving us all sorts of baby clothes and baby stuff which we greatly appreciate. Still looking for a house since the last one fell through. We are super bummed about it but there is bound to be a house just for us out there!

21 weeks and gender reveal!

This week I feel like has flown by. My sleep has been much better this week. I had a parent who was so sweet and bought me a body pillow because she could tell I was really tired. I never knew such a simple thing could be so helpful. I put it between my legs and under my belly a little bit and I'm not waking up as much to constantly switch sides. I've noticed that if I'm doing a lot of walking or on my feet a lot my feet start to hurt, as well as my back. Been told this is normal but nothing a good foot soak and some heat don't fix :)

On Monday I had my appointment with the perinatologist as well as an ultra sound. The ultra sound took 2 hours mostly because there were two of them and had to take lots of measurements. The lady had a really hard time taking measurements because they were moving like crazy! Twin A is located in the lower left head down measuring at 11 oz and a heart rate of 143 bpm and Twin B is located upper left feet first also 11 oz and a heart rate of 147 bpm. They are measuring right where they need to be and perfectly healthy. They couldn't find anything wrong in the ultrasound. And yes they are both girls! My mom came with me and captured these pictures of the doctors telling us the gender

Of course Ty is happy that they are both healthy babies but in back of this mind he really wanted a boy. Afterwards we met with the doctor who is specialized in at risk pregnancies. She seemed nice. Mentioned that the twins are not identical and that I had two separate eggs and that each baby is in it's own sack and has it's own placenta. This means that they most likely will grow the way they are suppose to and wont be able to take away the other twin's nutrients. The lady tried very hard to get a picture of both of them but they are too far spread out she just couldn't get a clear picture

After the appointment we raced to the party store to buy balloons for our gender reveal. We tried to do them outside but the lighting wasn't right because our appointment got out so late so we tried again inside in front of our Christmas tree

Next we just need to agree on a name. We had one girl's name picked out that we really liked but we can't seem to agree on the other one. But we have lots of time
