Blogger blahs

Lately I've been in a blogger rut. Normally I'm excited and always have something to write about, but by the time I get home and sit down at my computer, all the words leave my brain. Worked has drained me and I'm always exhausted. I just want to come home, turn on my shows and melt into the couch. The weekends usually consists of relaxing, unless I have plans. But even when I do have plans I have a hard time staying up late and have to cut it short. I'm hoping this doesn't become a regular thing, but considering I'm getting older, I'm going to assume it's only going to get harder haha

Anyway, last Thursday was my brother's last home football game! I can't believe he is a senior already. When did he get so grown up?

Late night, but it was really worth it. My brother played amazing and the Spartans won!!

Saturday I spent the day, relaxing, like always but not before I enjoyed a beautiful walk and then went to celebrate my friends birthday

Saturday was one of those nights where I couldn't stay out really late. But it's nice to be able to last long enough to catch up with friends

Sunday was another one of those, where has the time gone, days. It was my littlest brother's 5th birthday! Yes, 5. I remember exactly 5 years ago, watching my mom in labor, stood with her in the room as they sewed her up after her c section. He was so small and now he has gotten so big!

Time is flying on by and it doesn't ever seem to slow down

Halloween preparations!

If you follow me on Instagram, you've already seen some of the decorations but with this weekend being the first weekend of October, I brought out the Halloween decorations and decked out the whole house! I love decorating for holidays, it puts me in such a festive mood. Halloween happens to be Tyrel's favorite holiday so on Friday after work we took a trip to the Halloween store. We go there every year just to look at stuff. We drool over certain items that we would love to have, but don't feel it's worth the amount of money we would spend on it. Plus we live in an apartment, so we don't have much room to put stuff. Anyway, we did happen to buy some stuff while we were there. Mostly stuff for my Halloween costume and some other cheap Halloween decorations.

I've never used gel clings before but I'm really starting to like them!

Newly purchased zombie sign

I put the letters backwards to us so that people outside could see it. But when I walk out to my porch I've noticed the glare is awful and you can't see them really well. I might face them the other way so that us and our guests are able to enjoy them

Glow in the dark skull!

You can see it at night, if the blinds are closed and the back light is on

Saturday night I went over to my parents house where they provided me a delicious birthday dinner! Having been busy last weekend, I wasn't able to do dinner until this weekend. Belated dinner or not, it was still yummy and lots of fun. I got some new boots for my birthday, and my mom made my favorite cake. Funfetti!

My favorite!

Rain!

Well  fall is officially here, and it hit us with a bang! Bringing in rain and wind. Having lived in Oregon all my life it's no surprise to me, and yet every year you get people that still complain about the rain. They act all surprised that it rains all season (even though it does this every year) and run and hide until it stops raining. My advice to you: buy some rain gear and enjoy the fresh air! Being outside is good for you. If you don't like the rain, then I'm sorry you are living in the wrong state.

It's good for kids to be outside as well. I don't agree with keeping kids inside all day. Kids need to be outside, explore, get dirty, and experience scraps and bruises. It's all part of being a kid. At work we take kids outside in all types of weather. Hot, cold, rain or snow. You ever heard of the saying, "put on a coat, or you will catch a cold"? Well it's a myth. You can not catch the common cold by being cold. You catch it by breathing in the same air as an infected person. The reason why the common cold is so common in the fall and winter months: because people spend too much time inside! Kids who are spend more time outside are less likely to get sick. There are also less behavioral issues. Being outside gives kids the freedom to run around, have fun and just be a kid.

Are there other sicknesses that you can catch from being outside? Yes. Hypothermia is most common, which happens by not wearing proper clothing while being in the rain. That's why companies have created these things called rain coats and rain boots. There are even rain pants that you can put on over your regular pants. Add some layers under neath it all and you are nice and cozy.

So go outside, enjoy the fresh air. Oregon is known for rain so don't plan on it leaving anytime soon

Preparing for fall

I say this every year but I love fall! Yesterday was the first official day of fall and I honestly couldn't be happier! Summer is nice, allowing you do more things outside but I just can't take the heat. I'm not a fan of being hot and when it is really hot I just want to stay inside where there is ac. With fall in the air, it's cooler and just absolutely beautiful with all the different colors. There are many reasons why I love fall

FOOTBALL! (enough said)

Fall kicks off the holiday season, starting with Halloween! The time of pumpkin carving, dressing up and trick or treating. Even though I'm way too old for it

Boot season. I think my favorite thing about fall is dressing up cozy in sweaters, boots and scarves. I love the cold. I will take it over heat any day

When it's colder I can go on walks and enjoy them without feeling all gross and sweaty

Hello fall!

Shrewsbury!

I spent the entire weekend at the Renaissance Faire over in Kings Valley! My feet are dirty, my calves are sore, I'm sunburned in the strangest places and my foot is very angry at me but overall it was all worth it.

I started going to the Renaissance Faire in 2010 when Tyrel and I started dating. I didn't know anything about it, but when Ty talked about it, it sounded like a lot of fun to do! All I had to do was help work in the food booth and dress up. Let me tell you, the first year I went I was hooked and have been going every since!

It's hard to explain why I love going there so much. I guess the only way I can explain it is that everybody is super nice and they are all there to have to fun! People working there, as well as attendee's dress up, talk and act like was the renaissance. Simply amazing. Anyway that's all for now

This years crew! Sorry for the blurry edge, it was foggy when we took this picture
