Time for some photo fun!

Oh my goodness. I'm literally jumping for joy over here! There is an app called instagram, that until recently was only an app for iphone. I sadly don't have an iphone and was really bummed out I couldn't use it on my droid phone. Well last night I discovered that the app is now available for droid so I downloaded it and am loving it!!

I did some playing around with it this morning so here are a few previews. Some are old photos I've already taken and others are brand new. But I know there will be many more to come in the future

Enjoy!

Hold on to those memories

Last weekend consisted of an extra day- Memorial Day. And while most people went out of town, camped or had a bbq, a mother and father brought balloons and flowers to a memorial cross for their son. Along with them was their son and two young nieces.

They did a wonderful job and the cross looks absolutely beautiful! Such and great way to remember Michael. The balloons they brought had messages written on them, and then they were sent to the sky

Although I wish I had been apart of this, I was unfortunately unable to. I hope that aside from all the partying, drinking and celebrating of a 3 day weekend, some people took the time to remember someone special to them. I know Memorial Day was originally intended to be for fallen soldiers who served our country, but I feel it's also a time to remember people who are no longer part of our lives.

Rest in Peace Michael. You will always stay close to my heart

Sleep is good

I was able to get some extra sleep last night. Either to make up for the lack of sleep I got last week or because I'm coming down with something. Whatever the reason it was nice, and I actually woke up feeling refreshed and able to breath through my nose! I guess with the all the craziness last week brought with parent/teacher conferences, and separate portfolios we had to do for each child made me feel very stressed, causing me to not get very much sleep.

For me, sleep is very important. I'm the type of person who needs 8 hours of sleep everyday in order for me to function. I've always been like that, even as a child. You didn't have to tell me twice to go to bed, and often always put my self to bed. Unfortunately as I got older and more important things came up, like studying for exams and homework, a good nights sleep wasn't always an option. Even with my job today I don't get the sleep my body requires, which sucks because sleeps makes my day go by so much easier considering I tend to get a little cranky with lack of sleep. This has been a learning process for me on going about my day despite feeling tired. It is really hard! But I got to push through for the kids at work

Well I'm happy to say that I'm feeling better and am going to use this 3 day weekend to relax and get some extra sleep so I'm ready for a new week on Tuesday

See the true beauty of Corvallis!

People always complain about how boring Corvallis is, and how there is nothing to do in it. Well if only people realized there was more to do in this town other then partying and drinking. Put down the game controller, and turn off the tv. There so much to do in this town and wonderful places to see. All you have to do is open your eyes!

Saw these purple flowers and thought they were beautiful! Wish I knew what kind they were

Calloway Reservoir

I really loved these flowers too. It's almost like they grow backwards

Dinosaur tracks

I tried posting this yesterday a bunch of times but for some reason it wouldn't post. Frustrated, I finally gave up and figured I would try it again today.

This week our theme is dinosaurs. The kids are really enjoying learning about them and can't stop talking about them. The kids also enjoy painting in my classroom. Yesterday I tried a different way of painting. Instead of using paintbrushes, we used dinosaurs to paint and made dinosaur tracks on the paper using the feet of the dinosaur.
