Now that I'm home and have proper working internet, I can upload my pictures I have taken from the lake. There are a lot of them, so here is a preview of what is yet to come

Vacation: Sunny days and cold drink

Tuesday and Wednesday we spent our time on the lake. We took my grandpa's boat, packed the cooler full of snacks and drinks, piled everyone on the boat, and headed to the dock. It's a private that we had special permission to use. We spent the entire time tubing. So much fun. I ended up hurting my back the first day so I wasn't able to spend too much time on the lake, but still had fun hanging out and watching other people. Luckily my back got better the next day and was able to spend more time tubing.

I would upload some pictures, but the cabin site's internet wont let me! :(

After an afternoon on the lake, we come in, have some dinner, socialize and play games. The games can get pretty intense considering my family is a bunch of goofballs!

There are other things to do at the lake as well. Yesterday we rode the go-carts, played mini golf (the resort just built a brand new golf course!) and hopefully tomorrow we will go on the tram to the mountain.

Well that's all for now. I wont be able to post any photos until I get home tomorrow, so I will just do a big post then. Hope everyone is enjoying there time in Corvallis!

Vacation: Road trip to Eastern Oregon

After much anticipation Tyrel and I are finally on vacation. We left early Sunday morning to begin the long drive to good old Eastern Oregon. Of course along the way we made some stops. I had my first IKEA experience. Wow is that place huge! Afterwards we had to get a burrito at Taco Del Mar. Ever since the one in Corvallis was shut down like 3 years ago, Tyrel has been on the search for an open one. All the ones we have been too were shut down, but he finally got his fix after IKEA :) We also stopped in The Dalles at a little diner called Cousins. A very friendly little place and really good food. All for a very reasonable price.

Mt. Hoood!

Later down the road we made some stops at view points. There isn’t much to look at in Eastern Oregon but it’s still really pretty. We arrived at La Grande, just short of dinner time.

We arrived at Wallowa Lake yesterday and are going to be here until Saturday. There is no cell phone service and very limited internet access so I don’t think I will be on very much.

Anyway I'm off for a fun filled day of adventure!

Good news

Took Cunha to the vet on Thursday. A trip that my whole family was dreading. Considering that we haven't been seeing any improvement, and Cunha seemed very unhappy we thinking that this was going to be it.

But when we arrived to the vet, they did some test and found out that Cunha has some deep pain sensation! This is a good thing considering when we first took him in he wasn't able to feel any pain or sensation in his back legs. According to the vet, this is a very good sign.

Next came the x-rays. The vet discovered that he has a compressed disc, and it's putting pressure on the spinal cord, which is causing the paralysis. We still don't know what has caused this, but we probably will never know. According to an article I read, Lhasa Apsos have a greater risk of having these kinds of back problems because of their longer body. Click here to read the article for more information

When my mom texted me I was very happy to know that Cuhna was coming home! He will have a follow up appointment in 2 weeks to see if anymore progress is seen, but in the mean time he is to be confined to a very small space with a limit amount of movement as possible. I realize this may seem harsh and mean, but it's same thing a person would do with an injured back.

My family decided it would be easier to bring him with us to the lake. We were originally going to leave him at the kennels, but I think it would just stress him out even more having us be gone for a week. So my mom is going to be him a little tub for him to hang out in so that he can be in the room with us and still get lots of love and attention from us.

Hoping for more good news in 2 weeks!

one week

In just 7 more days I will be leaving for vacation.
A time when I can sit, relax, enjoy the sun, play games and spend time with family.

There is no cell phone service and most of the time no internet. I can do whatever I want with no time constraint.

This is going to be the longest week ever

Call it an obsession

Today I took the kids from my class over to the park. I've always enjoyed the park, it really brings out the kid in me. Sometimes it seems like I enjoy it more then the kids do. I love it!

When I was enjoying myself, I discovered something very interesting: A girl, maybe about 5 years old, wearing a cute outfit with wedged heels; and a binky in her mouth. When I saw this I had to do a double take, and then I opened my mouth to say something, but I came up speechless.

I was curious how anyone else felt about this. I mean, don't get me wrong, I was a binky child. But after a certain age, there needs to be a limit. 5 years old is a little old to be walking around with a binki is your mouth. I mean my sister was still in love with her binki at that age BUT she certainly didn't walk around with it. It was for bed time only.

There are some things I just don't understand
