Shaving cream art
Had a little fun with shaving cream today. A simple and easy project to make marblized designs on a piece of paper without the fuss of paint or a marble.
Items you need for this are simple:
Of course the kids discovered an alternative way to do this project. The sticks we used for scraping could be used for a "painting" the shaving cream on. Not the same effect but it still works.
I call this project a complete success! The first time I tried this it didn't work the way I wanted to. Very happy with the overall outcome.
Items you need for this are simple:
- Trays
- Shaving cream
- Food coloring
- Paper
- Craft stick
Take a piece of paper and place it on the shaving cream. Pushing slightly |
Lift the paper off |
Scrap off the extra shaving cream |
And you get a cool marble effect! |

2nd anniversary
Two years ago today (Well yesterday actually) Tyrel and I went on our first date. We went to dinner and then walk around Avery park and the trial along the river. Things went really well I looked forward to the next time I would see him. I was the happiest I had been in a long time. Two weeks later we offically became boyfriend and girlfriend. Over the next two years my life would change. I became happy once again.
Because it was Wednesday we didn't do anything big for our anniversary. This weekend we are hoping to go to the beach and then to dinner to celebrate the big date. We stayed at home instead and Tyrel made dinner: Potato soup. Delicious, relaxing and easy.
I also came home to blue flowers!
I've been looking for blue flowers for a long time and have had no luck. I thought they were non-existence. But he found some! Totally made my day :)
Wine was served
Happy anniversary to the love of the my life. You have made me so happy and have been there for me through the good times and bad. Someone I can count on and look forward to spending many more years with you

Father's Day
The man who has always been there for me
The person who graduated high school with a 9 month old. Went to college while working so he could support his family. A person that made sure I was awake every morning, made my lunch and then took me to school. He would wake up and take me to early morning practice at 5:30 in the morning. A person who works hard everyday to help raise his 5 kids
Happy Father's Day dad! I love you and appreciate everything you've done for me

My very (un)eventful weekend
For the past couple of months my weekends have consisted of sleeping in, movie watching, and spending time with the boyfriend. On Saturday we went out to a fancy restaurant that has a bathroom with really nice sinks
The food was delicious. Started with a salad and ended with a yummy dessert.
Overall really good food and only cost about $25 for both Tyrel and I to eat! Living the expensive life. (Sarcasm)
Afterwards we took a little walk. We took a path that runs along the pond behind our apartment complex.
Other events are as followed:

Emotioins: live and learn
My job comes with a lot of emotions. Stress. Anxiety. Joy. Tiredness. Happiness. A lot can happy in a day, and after being with kids for 8 hours, by the end of the day I have all these pent-up emotions, all I need is a little adult interaction.
I'm thankful for my boyfriend who is willing to listen as I talk his ear off for 10 minutes as soon as I walk through the door. I mention everything. No names of course, but details about events that happened through the day. A funny thing a child said, a report I had to fill out or any maintenance malfunction we had. Whether it makes sense to him or not, he just sits there and listens. Some days I come home and don't have any words to say at all. Just sitting there, quietly, tears rolling down my cheeks. The release of these emotions vary in time. Sometimes 10 minutes, sometimes an hour. Either way, Tyrel is there is make me feel better.
Afterwards, I always feel so much better. I feel relieved of my worries and willing to move on and prepare for the next day. The release of my emotions allows to me to be calm and at peace. I'm just happy I have someone willing to support me, without judgment.

Time for some photo fun!
Oh my goodness. I'm literally jumping for joy over here! There is an app called instagram, that until recently was only an app for iphone. I sadly don't have an iphone and was really bummed out I couldn't use it on my droid phone. Well last night I discovered that the app is now available for droid so I downloaded it and am loving it!!
I did some playing around with it this morning so here are a few previews. Some are old photos I've already taken and others are brand new. But I know there will be many more to come in the future
Enjoy!
